Lyn’s growth

Brought Lyn for her 6 weeks appt with her pd, she weighs in at a whopping 5.34kg (birth weight 3.95kg) and her length at 55.6cm (51cm at birth). She got “checked” and received the first of her 6 in 1 jab. She’ll be due back for the next jab in August.

Since we were there, I took the opportunity to weigh Paige. She’s now 9.4kg and about 82cm. It took her a long time to hit 5kg, Lyn is already there at 6 weeks.

Famous by association

We’re not sure of Lyn’s jaundice so Eugene brought her to the pd while I stayed at home with Paige. Her name means nothing to the nurses since she brand new, they asked for mommy’s name and immediately went “oh, she’s Paige’s meimei.” Guess the famous one is Paige.

Lyn weighs in at 3.69kg. Jaundice is ok, we just have to contine to sun her. If her belly button area is still sore in a few days, the pd will cover it up to prevent infection.

Ob appt: 36w 5d

No weight gain for me but plenty for lil moo, she’s now 3.5kg, big girl. The eviction date has been decided if i don’t go into labor between now and then. We’ve also decided to go for the Balmoral suite since thomson and chancery suite are not available. If it’s also not available then we’ll go down the list of rooms from there.

StrepB

Dr office called and said my strepb test came back positive. Since my appt is on monday, i’ll just collect the medicine on monday instead of making a special trip down.

OB visit: 35w 5d

Lil moo is 3.1kg. My weight hasn’t gone up much, just yo-yo within 500g up and down each time for the past 3-4 visits. Strep B test done, wait for results.

It won’t be possible to do a GA to put in the epi, so it has to be either GA or epi. :( Something to think about.

After the appt, we took the lift to the 6th floor to take a peek. The suites have their own corridor, which is off limit except to patients and their guests. Look nice and exclusive from the outside. Prices are probably pretty “nice” too. Thomson and Chancery Suite are on the 5th floor and are closed for renovation, so the only big suite left is Balmoral suite. Then follow by executive suites, VIP suites, deluxe rooms etc. Ob said the suites are very nice and come with personal services, like they come to your room to teach you how to bathe the baby instead of having the new parents go for their daily show and tell. Sweet!

OB visit: 35w

I’ve lost a little weight but lil moo is now 2.9kg. Ob gave me the admission letter to bring around. We’re really getting close.

We checked with the hospital information desk on the type of rooms. Since the 5th floor is under renovation, the Thomson Suite and Chancery Suite will not be available. That leaves the Balmoral Suite (only 1) and some super deluxe suites. *argh*

No cough medicine?

Despite bringing Paige to the PD for her cough and leaving the PD office with no cough medicine, her coughs are all better. The first 2 days, the phlegm medicine didn’t seem to be working and she was still coughing, but by the 3rd day, she was better and the cough seem to be more or less gone today. So I guess cough medicine is not always needed to treat coughs.

OB visit: 33w 5d

I’ve gained weight so did lil moo. She’s not 2.6kg and slightly engaged. If there is any sign of labor, the ob will try to stop labor but once we hit 36w, we’ll let it happen. Until then we still got to decide on vbac or pick an eviction day.

PD walk-in visit

After the few throw up incidents, Paige started coughing and last night the coughs got more frequent and worse. This morning we took her to her PD. The nurse managed to bribe Paige with 2 bags of gummy bears, Paige actually caved and let the nurse carried her. Anything for food, how sad?

Prof Lee wasn’t around so we saw Dr Lim instead. I always thought Dr Lim is around Prof Lee’s age but she’s much younger than I expected. Very patient, detailed doctor. Paige was cooperative with the doctor, until she tried to pry Paige’s mouth open to check her throat. She didn’t have a fever, so that’s good. Her throat was red and she had a lot of phlegm so the cough and throw ups were probably the phlegm. We got a bunch of medicine and the bill was hefty too. It feels a little weird to bring Paige to the PD for coughs and left with no cough medicine.

Lil moo has ballooned. Since the last ultrasound, she has grown from 1.9kg to 2.5kg and is now considered big. Unfortunately that also mean it’s time to start insulin for the GD. :(
